Izzie is One! And her brothers are pretty cute, too! Roanoke – Richmond – Virginia Children’s Photographer

My cousin and her kids dropped by the studio this week for a photoshoot to celebrate Izzie’s first birthday. It was a two day, full on photo extravaganza! We had so much fun! I looooved having some super cute kiddos in the new studio and loved chatting with my aunt and cousin over a glass of wine even more!
I even managed to get rid of some old and rarely used crafting supplies. Good luck finding space for all those goodies, Katie!!! I just know you’re going to use all of it to make me something gorgeous!
And now, your dolls…they are beautiful!

Vienna, Virginia Wedding January 2012 – Roanoke, Virginia Wedding Photographer

Back in January I had the opportunity to photograph a beautiful wedding in Vienna, Virginia. The Vienna Presbyterian Church was gorgeous, the new chapel is light and airy (and huge!) and the old chapel is a tiny relic reminiscent of times past.
The bride and groom were adorable and I was so touched by the way they incorporated their love of Christ into each and every aspect of their special day.
We couldn’t have paid for better weather…hello, wearing strapless dresses in January and not freezing to death? Wow! I was so glad we were able to take outdoor photos and take advantage of the lovely scenery provided by the small town of Vienna.
Enjoy!

Simone – 6 months old – Roanoke, Virginia Children’s Photographer

Sweet Simone was soooo cute! Her Mom brought lots of adorable outfits for her to wear…I wish we had time to try them all! Simone was so well behaved and adorable. She kept wanting to smile in the opposite direction of the camera, though! Can’t wait to meet her brother and sister in the spring!

Amelia, Lila and Wiley

These three sisters are so cute and so photogenic! They are my next door neighbors and spent a few hours during our snow day on Monday in the studio. I’ve been messing around with the lights in my studio, trying to get things “just right”. Well, this time around I kind of struck out. I did, however, manage to make some lemonade out of my lemons. Black and white heals so many wounds!

Mild January Day for a Session

So much fun photographing these UNBELIEVABLY angelic children! Little Faith was so sweet and ready from the get go! Reese took a little more time to warm up but once he figured out he had a captive audience he took off! As with most kiddos his age (14 mos) he was a ball of energy and a challenge to capture on the move. I was dying to catch those eyes on film, though, so I refused to give up! I can’t wait to see what paintings his Mom, Rachelle is able to paint using my photos. She is so talented! If you live in Roanoke Rachelle Kuehl is a wonderful art teacher and and a fantastic artist! Check out her website here!

And now, for the photos…

I played around with some actions and had a little fun to try and take advantage of the great light we had…
